Chief Secretary

Shri Anurag Jain
IAS, Chief Secretary Madhya Pradesh
Shri Anurag Jain, an Officer of 1989 batch of Indian Administrative Service born on the Madhya Pradesh cadre; is alumnus of IIT Kharagpur with B.Tech (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering in 1986. He did MA in Public Administration from Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, University of Syracuse, USA with a CGPA of 4.0.
At present, he is the Chief Secretary to Govt of Madhya Pradesh, the topmost bureaucratic post in the state, he has also served as Secretary, Government of India in Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
He has worked in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Chief Minister’s Office in Madhya Pradesh for a long duration, playing an important role at the apex level of decision making and policy formulation. He has the unique distinction of being awarded twice the prestigious Prime Minister’s award for excellence in Public Administration, also a recipient of National e-Governance Award and Web-Ratan Award.
