About the Regional AI Conferences
India is set to convene the Impact Summit in February 2026, aiming to position AI as a driver for sectoral transformation across government, industry, and society.
Recognizing that national ambitions must be rooted in regional priorities, the government of India is planning a series of eight Regional AI Conferences which are to be held in eight different locations across India from October 2025 to January 2026. These will be organized in Meghalaya, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Telangana.
Regional AI Conferences will be conducted in partnership with state governments, premier knowledge institutions (IITs/IIMs), and thematic central ministries. It will be a high-level, outcome-oriented regional summit leading up to the India–AI Impact Summit 2026. It will see participation from the domestic ecosystem including local population, industries, startups, civil society, researchers and academia.
Showcasing Regional AI Strengths & Innovations
Regional summits will focus on themes aligned with regional strengths and priorities. It will provide an opportunity for states to showcase different AI initiatives taken up by the state government in the AI space.
Each regional event will serve to mobilize local innovation, foster multi-stakeholder dialogue, and prepare actionable recommendations for the central summit.
Regional summits will provide a platform for catalysing discourse aligned with the India-AI Summit's priorities. Discussions and outcomes may feed directly into the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 Outcome Document.
