The India - AI Impact Summit will be held in New Delhi on the 19th and 20th of February 2026, to shape a future-oriented agenda for inclusive, responsible, and impactful AI cooperation. Announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India at the France AI Action Summit, this global convening will build on the momentum of key global initiatives, including the UK’s Bletchley Park Summit, AI Seoul Summit, France AI Action Summit (co-chaired by India), and the Global AI Summit on Africa in Kigali.

Aligned with India’s domestic vision of Harnessing the Power of AI Responsibly, for Good, and for All, the Summit will focus on tangible outcomes, global collaboration, and the responsible development, deployment, and use of AI. It envisions a future where AI delivers real impact, advancing inclusive growth, social development, and a healthier planet.

In preparation of the Summit, five virtual stakeholder consultations were convened from 6th to 8th June 2025, chaired by Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. These consultations drew participation from over 300 individuals representing international organisations, industry, startups, academia, and civil society, and gathered inputs on the themes, agenda, and engagement formats for the Summit.

The India-AI Impact Summit will convene global leaders, industry experts, researchers, startups, civil society organisations, and multilateral institutions. The Summit will comprise high-level plenaries, global hackathons, innovation challenges, an AI Expo, and other activities to promote international cooperation and inclusive, safe, and trustworthy AI. Multinational, multi-stakeholder working groups will be constituted to develop recommendations and action plans, culminating in the Leaders’ Declaration (a key output of the Summit). These efforts will be organised around key thematic areas.

The five consultations reflected the distinct priorities of each stakeholder group. International organisations emphasised aligning the Summit’s agenda with ongoing global efforts on AI safety and governance, and towards the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals. Industry stakeholders highlighted the importance of showcasing India's AI leadership, strengthening sector-specific contributions, and ensuring sustained public-private collaboration. The startup ecosystem underscored the value of spotlighting innovation through avenues like investor connects and demonstrations of pilot-ready solutions. Academic and research institutions stressed the need for advancing frontier AI research, addressing AI safety risks and concerns, and capacity-building. Civil society representatives highlighted the intersection of AI with development concerns across sectors like healthcare, education, gender, and climate action, focusing on public interest and long-term impact.
